If you were affected by the PlayStation Network outage of 2011 you may qualify for benefits on a class-action lawsuit against “Sony Entities.”
The Class in this case includes anyone in the U.S. and it’s territories who had a “PSN account a Qriocity account of SOE account,” during anytime before May 15, 2011.

If you were an account holder of one of the qualifying Sony Entities during the time period specified, you may be entitled to certain benefits from the suit. The benefits include a free PS3 or PSP game, 3 free themes, or 3 months of PlayStation Plus membership.
Anyone who had identity theft from the accident that led to out-of-pocket expenses can submit a supporting document to claim a reimbursement of up to $2.5k.
The outage of 2011 lasted about a month of PSN being offline that resulted into attacks on the system that resulted in the compromise of sensitive data being credit card information.
It’s crucial for us to say that Sony Entities “deny any claims of wrongdoing in this case,” and the settlement “does not mean that the Sony Entities violated any laws or did anything wrong.”
To see if you qualify, and to file a claim, visit the website to obtain a claim form, or you can write to PSN-SOE Settlement, PO Box 1947, Faribault, MN 55021, or call 1-877-552-1284. The earliest deadline to file a claim is August 31. IGN Logo
