Leaked Assassin’s Creed Game Set To Release 2015

By Gamsel Gaming 12/3/14

Ubisoft’s 2015 Assassin’s Creed game has been leaked and takes place in 19th century London during the Victorian era.

According to a “person familiar with the game,” it’s called (or will be) Assassin’s Creed Victory. This game will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC in Fall 2015.

It has been reported that Ubisoft Quebec, not the typical Montreal district, will be leading the development of this new Assassin’s Creed game.

Kotaku reports seeing seven minutes of “target gameplay footage,” which is produced in Assassin’s Creed’s engine, therefore not pre-rendered. In the video the assassin climbs up a tower to get a view of the city, descends into a carriage and a moving vehicle. The fight ends up taking place in a train station where the assassin then ascends to high ground swings across the station using a grappling hook (which is a new item brought to the series) and kills the target.

Source also says that this is the only game to be released in the fall for Assassin’s Creed.

Ubisoft responds to the leak by saying, “It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players."

:Dying Light DLC Announced:

By Gamsel Gaming 12/4/14

Techland, the developer of Dead Island, has an upcoming zombie game named Dying Light. Like other AAA games, it will offer a DLC pass. Dying Light’s pass is $20 and will be available on all platforms excluding Xbox 360, and PS3 as they have been cancelled in October. It includes three expansions, featuring new missions, outfits, weapons and more as described by Techland:

  • Cuisine & Cargo — Available first for Season Pass holders, these two hardcore missions let players put their skills to the ultimate test. Investigate buildings sealed off in the very first days of the outbreak–with the infected inside. Explore ominous corridors of once the most famous restaurant in Harran, and employ both stealth and combat to ransack a zombie-filled loading bay at an abandoned railroad yard.

  • Ultimate Survivor Bundle — Players will receive seven unique in-game items that will bring fighting zombies to a whole new level. Grab three special outfits and four blueprints for over-the-top weapons to make your survival in the quarantine zone a good bit easier.

  • The Bozak Horde — The final Season Pass drop will deliver a new map and gameplay, playable in either single-player or co-op. Go inside the Harran Stadium, the most famous landmark in the city, and test your combat know-how against relentless hordes of the Infected. Fight increasingly stronger and larger enemy waves as you oppose a mysterious psychopath called Bozak.

Dying Light’s Cuisine and Cargo will arrive in February 2015, a month after the game’s release. Techland also announced a Dying Light Ultimate Edition, which features the game and all it’s season pass content. Pricing was not announced for this Ultimate Edition, but preorders are available on all platforms.

:Sony Releases New Design Of PS4 To Celebrate Their 20th Anniversary:

By Gamsel Gaming 12/4/14

Sony has revealed a new design for the PS4 that features the original PSOne finish to commemorate the 20th anniversary of PlayStation—Can you believe it’s been that long?

The console is available for pre-order from the US and Europe priced at $499 with a limited supply of 12,300 units worldwide.

It is also packaged in a special box, and has the familiar silver finish with a small insignia etched into the chassis that shows the unit’s serial number of the batch. The DualShock 4 controller is colored in the same way and brings back the original PlayStation logo. Upon looking closer it is seen that the controller’s touch-pad has been decorated with the 20 marked in the pattern.

Preorders open on Saturday December 6, with more information being announced at the PlaySation Experience event on Saturday.

Shunhei Yoshida, president of Sony’s game studio division, announced the console Wednesday morning to mark the two-decade milestone.

Yoshida wrote on the PlayStation blog, “The mid ’90s were an exciting time for game developers, driven by the explosion of powerful but affordable 3D graphics rendering hardware and the birth of many young and adventurous development studios. The original PlayStation was meant to embody that sense of adventure and discovery, that sense that anything was possible.”

All I can say is… I want one, very badly. Hopefully all of us will be able to save our pennies for this.

Destiny raid matchmaking

:Bungie is Against Raid Matchmaking On Destiny:

By Gamsel Gaming 12/4/14

After players expressed the desire for having raid matchmaking implemented, Bungie has confirmed that they will not implement this concept.

Lead designer Luke Smith explained why Bungie is not adding matchmaking to this game.

“We’re certainly noticing that there is voracity in the fan base for content that makes them think-content that challenges them in some different ways. I think rather than say ‘Yeah, we’re going to make matchmaking for raids,’ the way I’m thinking about this problem is how we’re going to create that kind of content and create those kinds of emotions in match made activities. I think that’s the challenge. It’s not how do we change the raid-design philosophy to allow for matchmaking.”

Smith continued while mentioning the development team’s enthusiasm towards sites helping players connect with one-another.

“I think looking at the [looking for game] – style mechanics is something we absolutely want to do,” he said. “We would love to get to a place someday where you can advertise your intent to people. Where you can say ‘I want to do this. Are you looking to do this with me?’ But we have absolutely no plans to do raid matchmaking at this time.”

David Dauge, Studio Manager for Bungie, says to CVG that this is a “really tricky topic.”

“The Raid was designed for solid teams of killers who have made a commitment to solve a dense and explosive riddle. Most of the raiding parties who have emerged victorious from the Vault of Glass have sworn that one weak link would have doomed their chain.”

Micrsoft Apologizes To Indie Developers for Late Payments.

By Gamsel Gaming

Microsoft has apologized for late payments for some Xbox 360 indie developers. The company says that they did not intentionally withhold their sales, but there was a bug in the system that caused the problem.

“Due to a technical issue in our payment system, we recently learned that some payments to select developers in the Xbox Live Indie Games program on Xbox 360 were delayed,” Microsoft said. “Our partners are important to us and we work hard to help make sure they have a great development experience. This was an unfortunate error and we are working hard to fix it. We apologize for this incident and anticipate developers will receive payments within the next two weeks.”

During a holiday season, this is not ideal for the affected developers. Micosoft is promising the payments, and all should be straightened out before Christmas. However, Microsoft clarified that this does not affect Xbox One Indie developers.

Halo Masterchief Collection Doesn't Fix Uneven Teams

By Gamsel Gaming

343 Industries released a new update for Xbox One, as they had promised prior for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. This update addresses some of the game’s matchmaking issues.

On the Halo website, 343 says that this new update focuses on improving matchmaking times. The patch should improve matchmaking team balances, but doesn’t completely fix the problem of uneven teams.

From 343 Industries, here’s the detailed analysis of what’s to come in this update.

  • Made a change to allow for matches to start once minimum player counts are met, allowing for faster matching times.

  • Made an update to resolve issues that caused false matches to be created, which resulted in a variety of matchmaking issues, including slow matchmaking and bad session starts.

  • Streamlined the process for maintaining party continuity through the matchmaking process.

  • Made an update to the high-level matchmaking flow that will reset lobbies after each match. Moving forward, players and party leaders need to press “B” after the post-game-carnage report, and select a playlist for their next match. This flow is consistent with previous Halo titles.

  • Improved user experience through removal of non-actionable error messages. This will allow for a more seamless matchmaking flow with less interruption and confusion.

  • Improved the post-game experience to fix an issue that could result in a player getting sent to another player’s lobby, rather than returning to the matchmaking screen.

343 stresses that they continue to work on fixing content more while addressing other issues with The Master Chief, even though they had not named any specific issues to be addressed.

“We have additional updates on the way in an effort to further improve your experience with Halo: The Master Chief Collection,” 343 said. “We thank you for your continued feedback, patience, and support.”

Borderlands: The Presequel DLC Revealed

By Gamsel Gaming

Players who are playing Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel are going to be receiving new DLC this month.

2K Games announced that an expansion called Holododome Onslaught, the game’s second post-release add-on, would be available December 16 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. It is included with The Pre-Sequel’s $30 DLC pass or can be purchased separately for $10 on each console.

The expansion has new story content including appearances from Vault hunters such as Gaige and Axton.

“While they were gone on a mission, they missed out on the events of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and ask Athena to recount the story,” 2K says. “Since they’re not the most patient badass Vault Hunters on Pandora, they just want an abbreviated version–only the juicy, violent stuff.”

Players will play through Holodome Onslaught as Athena tells the story, all while new challenge arenas have you fight against a new wave of enemies. 2K says that this DLC hosts “some of The Pre-Sequel’s most memorable badasses, as well as several new enemies.”

Players who survive this endeavor will earn new weapons, class mods, and “Some radical new heads and skin.” This DLC also includes the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade pack that helps boost your level cap to 60.

Not only are you getting all this content, The Pre-Sequel will also introduce a free patch next week that adds the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, described as “more difficult”. Players will also be able to reset campaign progress at any time, while enemies scale to your current level.

The Pre-Sequel launched in October though developer 2K Australia is not finished supporting it quite yet.

Two more expansion packs are coming to the game while introducing one more playable character, new campaigns, and more. Though, 2K has not announced the release date for these expansions.

EA Makes The “Most Complete FPS Ever”

By Gamsel Gaming

EA (Electric Arts) is proud of their first person shooter labeled Battlefield Hardline. EA even says that this game is the “most complete first person shooter in the market.

Hardlines’ cop vs. criminals FPS is combined with an “emotionally driven” single-player campaign, which is inspired by Justified, a TV drama, and even features multiplayer.

EA also made the announcement that musician Jamie N Commons and producer Alex Da Kid created the song called “Karma” for Hardline.

This song is Hardline’s theme song, and Commons performed the track last night during The Game Awards in LA.

“The music, and moreover the audio, help create that emotional experience you want gamers to feel as they play in the world we’ve built for them,” Hardline developer Steve Papoutsis said. “With ‘Karma’, Jamie captured that gritty cop and criminals tone that defines Hardline, where not everyone is good and not everyone is bad, toeing that fine line of the law.”

Commons says that he “could not pass up” this opportunity as he is a fellow gamer. “The deep melodic beats and lyrics help express the game’s theme where actions have consequences, but sometimes those consequences come back full circle. I think gamers are going to love it.”

Paradox Cancels The Development Of RuneMaster

By Gamsel Gaming

Development of the game, Runemaster, a Norse mythology themed PS4 and PC RPG has been cancelled by Paradox.

Paradox COO Susana Meza Graham announced the news in the Paradox forums. Graham explained that the work has been “frozen” on the project as their teams focuses on other titles.

“After much internal debate we have made the decision to freeze development of the project until further notice and move the development team working on it to other projects within Paradox Development Studio,” she said.

“This was not an easy decision to make–Runemaster was a very ambitious project for us, and the team working on it brought all of their passion, dedication, and talent to the table,” Graham added. “Despite our best efforts and a couple of re-scopes, Runemaster in its current form was unable to live up to the standards we set for ourselves here at Paradox.”

Graham further added that Paradox will be using the lesson they’ve learned during the production of Runemaster and apply them to future projects. She also says that some Runemaster features may be seen in other titles. Also, don’t worry because Graham ensures that cancelling Runemaster will not lead to layoffs.

“Our aim is to let all the talented developers who worked on the project to remain with Paradox Development Studio and bring their expertise to the other great games currently in development,” says Graham.

Bungie has confirmed that Destiny will not be receiving any raid matchmaking features.

“I think looking at the LFG- style mechanics is something we absolutely want to do,” lead designer Luke Smith told Game Informer. “We would love to get to a place someday where you can advertise your intent to people. Where you can say ‘I want to do this. Are you looking to do this with me?’ But we have absolutely no plans to do raid matchmaking at this time.”

Smith continued to say that Bungie has noticed a trend in its players being drawn to the complex challenging raids that Destiny offers. Rather than adding raid matchmaking they are thinking about how to create the same type of content in different activities.

“I think that’s the challenge. It’s not how do we change the raid-design philosophy to allow for matchmaking,” Smith said.

It was in October when David Dague, Bungie community manager, said they were thinking about raid matchmaking but were still up in the air about the issue.

“We’re having conversations about how Matchmaking might support the more challenging activities in Destiny,” he said. “It’s a start.”

Next week is the release of The Dark Below DLC and Bungie is confident that this will “change the experience of playing Destiny for all”

More Details About PS4 Exclusive Bloodborne

By Gamsel Gaming

Bloodborne’s Game Director , Hidetaka Miyazaki, hosted a panel during the PlayStation Experience for more in-depth answers.

Here are some highlights from the panel.

  • Over 10 maps in the world.

  • Each map is unique with it’s own “situation.”

  • The Chalice dungeon is a multi-layered map located in the city’s lower levels

  • Procedurally generated, but massive, spanning the entire underground area of the city.

  • Each area in the underground has a holy chalice; finding that allows you to break the seal and access another section.

  • By multi-layer, that means there are three layers to present different surprises and traps to widen the game’s strategy

  • After generating your dungeon through the Holy Chalice ritual, it stays fixed. That allows players the opportunity to master each dungeon while still providing “fresh and interesting” experiences.

  • Assume the difficulty level of the dungeons is high. They won’t be easy to breeze through.

  • Like Demon’s Souls, the focus on is on the sense of accomplishment and achievement after clearing a dungeon.

  • Increase the scale of sharing. Players will be able to share generated dungoens and the methods they used to complete them. You can narrow those down to specific communities or just a close group of friends.

  • The Chalice Dungeon isn’t tied into the main story; it’s optional.

  •

And points from the Q&A:

  • Character customization will be about on level with Dark Souls II, but there will also be some unique features. As an action-RPG, it’ll have everything “to be expected from an RPG.”

  • The team is working to keep the game running at the highest frame rate they can, and the final specifications will depend on what works best for the experience.

  • There is PvP in the game.

  • There might be something along the lines of the fight in Dark Souls II where you took on the role of a boss and fought against another player.

  • The concept of dying and Hollowing from Demon’s/Dark Souls will exist in some form in Bloodborne as well.

  • The dungeon you saw during the keynote was made for the presentation; the actual dungeons will be much larger and more complex.

  • The boss characters are also part of the randomly generated element.

Killing Floor 2 Will Be Available On PS4

By Gamsel Gaming

Co-op FPS horror game, Killing Floor 2, is coming to PS4 says Tripwire Interactive and Sony developers.

Killing Floor 2 allows you to have a team of up to six people to take on enemies named Zeds. Tripwire announced the game for PC earlier this year as the sequel aims to improve the original with it’s new M.E.A.T. System (Massive Evisceration and Trauma), which induces greatly improved enemy damage as well as a mix of realistic and “mad scientist” weapons.

“As a fiercely independent developer we have always wanted to ensure that when we made the leap to consoles it would be on our terms,” Tripwire Interactive President John Gibson said. “We’ve been extremely impressed with Sony’s openness and fairness when dealing with developers both large and small.”

Killing Floor 2 is set to release in 2015 though Tripwire hasn’t announced whether the game is exclusive for the PS4.

God of War Game Accidentally Announced

By Gamsel Gaming

Cory Barlog, the Creative Director at Sony Santa Monica, let slip that a new God of War game is in development while at the PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas.

Barlog then confirmed his slip up in response to a question from a fan during the God of War retrospective panel. Though, according to a tweet from Santa Monica Studio’s official account, he probably wasn’t supposed to reveal this information.

According to IGN, Barlog claims the game is definitely not a prequel, but it might be a chance for the series to start over. Barlog also confirmed that the game was early in its development, and hopes to share more about it in the next year or so.

God of War III director, Stig Asmussen, left Sony Santa Monica back in March this year. Though he did not work on God of War: Ascension, the last game in the series that released in 2013, he was reportedly working on a development of a new IP that Sony cancelled in result of a round of layoffs.

Lizard Squad Takes Down PSN...Again

By Gamsel Gaming

PlayStation Network was having issues last night where users were not able to login. PlayStation posted on their official Twitter that they were investigating the issues.

Before this announcement from PlayStation Network, the notorious hacking group, Lizard Squad tweeted that they had hacked PSN.

Lizard Squad had teased that the first take down of Xbox Live was “a small dose of what’s to come on Christmas,” and they were right. Since then they have continuously caused Xbox Live failures and now PSN, once again. Xbox Live says that since the recent take downs earlier this week, they are still suffering from limited services.

Evolve Developers Discuss Free DLC

By Gamsel Gaming

The director of Evolve, Turtle Rock Studios, held a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” recently. Turtle Rock answered some questions about the 4v1 multiplayer shooter.

Reddit user parkurtommo asked how Turtle Rock’s plans to support Evolve with DLC after launch (the developer recently announced that it will give maps away for free):

Co-founder Phill Robb: “Right now we’re looking at maps, monsters, characters, some community support features. We’ve tried to come up with a plan that we as gamers felt good about. As much as we’d love to give all of our DLC away for free, end of the day it costs a lot of money for us to make it.

“New maps will be free, community features will be free. Characters and monsters will be paid DLC, BUT, you’ll still be able to play with people who bought them, even if you don’t purchase them yourself.

The main idea is that we don’t split the community. We wanted to set it up so that if you don’t want to buy DLC your experience is still enhanced by its presence.”

laidtokickback asked what ideas or mechanics Turtle Rock had to cut from the game.

Writer, Designer, and Producer Matt Colville: “Man we had to cut a lot of stuff, but the core design never shifted.

“We originally had a much more ambitious plan for the wildlife, for instance. Like, the planet was almost a third team and it wasn’t unusual for one side to win because the other got destroyed by the wildlife.

“But we pretty quickly dropped that. It was very unsatisfying to be running through the world, looking for the monster, and get HEROES WIN out of nowhere. You won, but you didn’t cheer. You sat around wondering what happened? It was a huge letdown.

“So we scaled the wildlife back to make them more situational.”

Co-founder Phill Robb:We had a lot of hunters and monsters that we had to leave on the table. More ideas than we had time and budget for!”

necroscar268 asked if Turtle Rock is worried that players will gravitate towards the same monsters or hunters.

Producer Chloe Skew: “Absolutely not. I think you may see trends from individual people, due to play style and personal preference, but as far as a player base-wide trend to only stick to the last four hunters, I would be really disappointed if we saw that – because it would mean players were really limiting themselves. Each Hunter has their own utility that completely changes the strategies you’ll use in the fight (not to mention the myriad of strategies possible in different modes).

Co-founder Phill Robb: “If we get to a point where certain hunters have a clear power discrepancy over/under other hunters, that’s a candidate for a balance tweak. The idea is that all hunters are equally valid.

“We may indeed see favorites and certain hunters showing up more than others, and in that case we’re going to be looking very close at that to figure out why, and fix it if possible.”

xdflames asked how Turtle Rock thinks Evolve will work in the eSports scene.

Co-founder Chris Ashton: “Our initial idea was squads of five. Our monster plays against your Hunters. Your Monster plays against our Hunters. Play one match straight up. If our Hunters win and our Monster wins, we’re done. We move onto the next round. If both our Monsters win, we go into some sort of tie breaker.”

ikeepitbrutal asked if Turtle Rock had any plans to open the game up to the modding community.

Co-founder Phill Robb: “I’m personally hopeful we’ll be able to open things up for modding, but because we don’t own the engine Evolve uses, there are significant roadblocks we have to clear to make it a reality. No promises, but if we CAN, we will.”

Originally, Evolve was supposed to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this year but was later delayed to February 10, 2015.

Driveclub Dynamic Weather Feature & Free DLC

By Gamsel Gaming

As you may have already noticed today, Driveclub on PS4 now has the promised dynamic weather feature.

Evolution announced the dynamic weather system before the game had launched in June, but since they said it was a recent innovation the feature will be added to the game shortly after its release.

Driveclub had a rough launch back in October. This game is considered broken with its constant and never-ending server issues that prevented players from playing online and accessing certain features. With that feature being disabled to players, many question what the point of even having the game is.

Evolution has since promised PlayStation Plus a free edition of the game for its subscribers because of the issues, but it is still without a release date.

Because of the ongoing issues, Evolution has offered some of the game’s DLC for free as an apology, taking after Ubisoft with broken Unity.

Though, PlayStation Europe boss, Jim Ryan, recently said that Driveclub’s launch didn’t damage Sony’s reputation.

Sony has announced this new version on their PlayStation Blog.

In addition to the graphic updates, the game has a new “array” of planets and nine different game modes including add-ons.

One new interesting addition to the game is the “interactive streaming” game mode that allows you to stream your game and allow viewers to vote periodically to change your gameplay experience.

Stardust Ultra has the usual global leaderboards, but now you are able to also directly send and receive challenges from friends. This feature also hosts 2-4 split-screen multiplayer or co-op competitive models.

LEGO Batman 3 DLC "The Squad"

By Gamsel Gaming

DC comic’s The Suicide Squad, a special task force made up of super villains, is coming to LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham in a new DLC, but they will not be named The Suicide Squad.

Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment did not explain the reasoning behind this, but it is safely assumed based on gaming audiences of the LEGO games being rated E for Everyone 10+ by ESRB.

The Squad DLC adds Deadshot, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang and other members of The Squad as actual playable character that must fight through Belle Reve Penitentiary and stop an enemy.

This DLC is $3, or alternately, the game’s season pass is $15 and includes six DLC’s in total.

The Witcher 3 release Date Delayed, Again

By Gamsel Gaming

The Witcher 3 has had its release date delayed—again. This is even seven months after the developer had promised that the game would not be delayed any further.

Regardless, Poland-based developer, CD Projekt Red, set The Witcher 3 to be launched for May 19, 2015.

The excuse for the delay is that there were high ambitons for the release.

“The sheer size and complexity of The Witcher, key features of the title, have had a decisive impact on production. Now, nearing the end of our work, we see many details that need to be corrected,” the studio wrote.

CD Projekt Red’s announcement is now the second delay for The Witcher 3. It was in March when studio co-founder, Marcin Iwinkski, assured us that there would be no further setbacks.

“This is not our first game; we are not newbies,” he said at the time. “It’s not like ‘hey we are delaying and we’ll keep on delaying’.

Project Red responded to the rumors that the studio was entering a final crunch to finish the gam eon time, and that it’s public demonstrations were overly flattering in October.

“If you have any doubts about Wild Hunt’s quality, have a look at the 35-minute gameplay video we published some time ago, or check out gamers’ reactions to our public previews at Gamescom, San Diego Comic Con, and E3 (it’s all public and available on the studio’s YouTube channel), and decide for yourself.”

Dear Gamers, May 19th, 2015.

Ever since we started working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we knew it would be an ambitious game. We wanted, and still aim, to give you an incredible experience, an epic adventure in a vast, completely open fantasy universe.

The sheer size and complexity of The Witcher, key features of the title, have had a decisive impact on production. Now, nearing the end of our work, we see many details that need to be corrected. When we release the most important game in our studio’s history, we must be absolutely sure that we did everything we could to limit any bugs to a level that will allow you to enjoy the game thoroughly.

With this in mind, we took another look at current workloads and what they mean for the team. Even though everyone is working at full speed, we concluded that we need another 12 weeks, so we are shifting the release date of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to May 19, 2015.

We owe you an apology. We set the release date too hastily. It’s a hard lesson, one to take to heart for the future. We know what we want to do to make Wild Hunt one of the best RPGs you will ever play. And we continue to work hard to achieve just that. So, we apologize and ask for your trust.

Thank you for the all support you show us on a daily basis. We truly do appreciate it. It has fueled us in our passion since the start and will continue to do so.

Destiny Character Progress Will Transfer

By Gamsel Gaming

If you are worried that Bungie would make you create a new character for Desitny’s sequel, you can relax because Bungie has confirmed that your current Destiny character progress will continue to Destiny 2.

“The idea is that the Guardian you have created is something you can bring along with you on that adventure,” Bungie’s David “DeeJ” Dague explained to IGN. “If you take a look at the way people have played other games for a long period of time, they’ve had a relationship with the same character for a very long time.”

Even though Dague discussed the character progression, he did not want to discuss more details about the project. He wouldn’t say anything about the status of the game or when it will be released.

“I’ve seen new concept art, I’ve seen new exotic weapons up on people’s screens…it’s a lot of fun to walk around the studio, because there’s always somebody thinking about the next place you’ll go, the next enemy you’ll fight, the next thing that you’ll earn for doing those things,” Dague teased.

The Dark Below DLC releases tomorrow as Destiny’s first expansion. Read more about the DLC here.

Yes, Another Assassin's Creed Patch

By Gamsel Gaming

Assassin’s Creed Unity has another patch coming it’s way, nearly a month after its original launch date.

This patch is the fourth update that Ubisoft announced will be released “soon” though no specific date was given.

Unity Patch #4 promises to bring improvements to the game’s framerates, as the other patches had promised also. They also plan to fix crashes and clear up issues with the companion’s app.

Though, this patch should fix most of the game’s issues Ubisoft says if you encounter new or old bugs to reach out to customer support.

Top Unity Priority Issues:

  • Game crashes after loading your save: We’re devoting a lot of attention to this one and we have a workaround (try taking your system offline and reload your save, you should be able to play offline). Most instances of this crash will be eliminated in Patch 4, but if you do still encounter this issue after the Patch is applied please file a Customer Support ticket to help us identify what your issue is so we can create a fix for it.

  • Error CE-34878-0: Similar to the crash mentioned above, the game freezes or crashes after loading your save. This particular error message is exclusive to PS4. This issue should be resolved in Patch 4.

  • Initiates legacy recognition issues: Many of these issues have been resolved, but we’ve noted that it could still take several days for all of your progress from past games to be fully updated. If after five days you still don’t see your progress accurately reflected on the site, please file a ticket with Customer Support so we can more closely examine this issue.

  • Companion App issues: We’ve just released a new patch for the Companion App, so be sure to update to release 1.04 if you have not already. This patch addresses the following issues:

    • Restoration of lost Premiums

    • Fixed synchronization issues for first-time users and at login

    • Fixed the “no assassin” issue in the tutorial

    • Fixed missions with 100% odds of success that could fail

    • Fixed an issue with lost progress–simply resync with the HD game and load your save, this will synchronize your online progression data.

Street Fighter V: "Business Deals Happen"Says Xbox Exec

By Gamsel Gaming

Xbox Executive Phil Spencer responded to the announcement that Capcom’s fighting game Street Fighter V is coming exclusively to PS4.

He put on Twitter that Microsoft can’t win every business deal, also that he would rather invest in Killer Instinct, Microsoft’s own fighting game franchise.

“Business deals happen,” Spencer explained. “We don’t do all of them. We have a 1st party franchise in a genre I’d rather invest in ours.”

Spencer also added while Microsoft will make exclusive business deals from time to time, the company sees owning IP as paramount importance.

“There is a mix of deals to do,” he said. “But making sure we own IP [that] Xbox gamers love is critical [in my opinion]. I’d love it if Xbox fans could play all the games, but business just makes some deals happen. It’s all part of competition.”

Street Fighter V was officially announced on December 6 after the trailer aired on The PlayStation Experience. This game will be coming to PC and will support cross platform playing.

Destiny's Iron Banner Event Returns

By Gamsel Gaming

Destiny is hosting a third Iron Banner event on December 16 according to Bungie.

Iron Banner is a limited time competition for the game’s PvP-focused The Crucible where each player’s armor and firepower are dictated by their experience.

Normally, all of the player’s statistics are balanced by The Crucible to make a fair matchup.

The standings from previous Iron Banners will be reset as Bungie had already promised, allowing everyone to have an opportunity to earn new gear allowing players to earn new gear and progress to level 31.

This is now the second Iron Banner since the gameplay has been tweaked to make disparities between players more meaningful.

The first Iron Banner in October was criticized for limiting high-level players’ power, which was put in place to help lower levels have a chance.

Xbox Boss Promises To "Make Amends"

By Gamsel Gaming

As a follow up to Xbox Boss, Phil Spencer, responding to Street Fighter V being exclusive on PS4, Spencer has now vowed to “make amends” to Xbox One players.

A fan on Twitter said that they would forget about Street Fighter V not coming to Xbox One if Microsoft would develop a new Banjo-Kazooie or Conker game.

Spencer replied: “Love the idea of game franchise bartering, I’ll work on making amends for SF.”

Though, Spencer did not promise anything nor reveal any information on how he plans on making amends with fans.

Spencer commented about Capcom’s decision on making Street Fighter V exclusive to PS4 earlier this week as stating, “It’s just business and part of competition.”

Microsoft has similar deals with Rise of Tomb Raider, which is set to release in 2015 as an Xbox One exclusive, as well as Perfect Dark, Titanfall and others.

Final Stand Isn't The end of Battlefield

By Gamsel Gaming

Battlefield 4’s Final Stand expansion isn’t the final add-on for DICE’s military shooter despite the title. The developer announced yesterday that “Final Stand is not the end,” teasing that the Swedish studio plans to support this game with more content.

“With Battlefield 4 Final Stand released, we hope and believe that you will enjoy it together with the rest of the game for a long time,” DICE said. “However, there is one thing we want to assure you: there is more content coming for Battlefield 4.”

DICE has confirmed that this DLC is free, but will also announce more details about this mysterious Battlefield 4 DLC “in the near future.”

“We understand that this may lead to even more questions about our plans, but rest assured that we’ll get back to you on the future of Battlefield 4 when the time is right,” DICE explained.

The new Battlefield 4 content will more than likely take form of a multi-player map as DICE is asking fans: “If a re-imagining of a Battlefield classic map was to happen, which map would that be?”

If you would like to respond, you can via this poll.

Halo 5: Guardians Beta Still Being Released

By Gamsel Gaming

Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s launch issues have been so severe that developer 343 Industries needed to delay twin-stick shooter Halo: Spartan Strike to 2015. However, 343 Industries ensures players that the release date of Halo 5: Guardians, an Xbox One exclusive, will not be impacted.

A Microsoft representative who works on the Halo team told GameSpot that Halo 5’s multiplayer beta is in the final stages of testing and remains on schedule to begin later this month as originally planned.

“The Halo 5: Guardians development team is currently going through final testing phases of the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta in preparation for the official launch,” the representative said. “Everything currently remains on track for release on Dec. 29.”

Halo MCC stumbled during its launch in November with long matchmaking times and frequent uneven teams. Matchmaking times have reportedly improved since the launch along with uneven teams being less frequent but 343 still is not done fixing broken Halo MCC as they have pledged to continue and support it with further updates.

Halo 5 multiplayer beta will be available December 29 for people who bought Halo MCC. The beta trial, which runs in 720p and ends January 19, lets players sample the game’s new multiplayer abilities, including ground pound and thrusters.

The explanation for 343 releasing the beta a year early is because Microsoft is hoping to gather feedback on the new game.

Peter Moore Reports Death Threats To Twitter

By Gamsel Gaming

COO Peter Moore is a top executive for the voted “Worst Company in America,” Peter Moore. It is only natural that he is used to negative comments but when he started receiving death threats to himself and his family, Moore was prompted to report the abuse to Twitter.

Moore shared his side of the story saying on Twitter that he reported the messages. As you can see below Twitter did investigate that matter, but couldn’t take any action because the abusive tweets did not violate any rules.

Here are some tweets Moore had received from one Twitter user in particular @xbox_gamer87 regarding EA’s FIFA franchise:

  • hurry up and die old man ur ruining video games . The day u die is the day I throw a street party. REMEMBER THAT”

  • “remove handicap it’s not a joke. Hope ur wife dies in a ditch u scum. Hurry up and die u old prick”

  • “u scum I hate u and everything related to u.. I hope u ur wife kids family all die then there’s nothing left of u”

  • “hope your wife gets raped”

In the user’s Twitter bio, he says that Peter Moor is “the one person I want to die,” and has since spoken out to share his comments by protected free speech.

The Twitter user has since apologized, but whether Moore accepts these apologies are still to be announced.

Twitter’s official “Abusive Policy Behavior” states that users are not allowed to “make direct, specific threats of violence towards others.” The site also urges if you believe you are in immediate danger you should contact local law enforcement.
