On Thursday, Activision announced plans for the 2015 Call of Duty Championship, which will feature the top COD: Advanced Warfare teams play for $1 million in prizes.
The event is held March 27-19 in Los Angeles while being sponsored by Microsoft/Xbox and Major League Gaming. A total of 32 teams from around the world will be competing for the title of “World Champions” and the majority of the $1 million total tournament prize.
The qualifying events will be held online through Xbox One, while the 2015 COD Championship final match will be broadcasted live on Xbox Live and other networks.
Activision says their goal for this year’s tournament is to “boost eSports to new heights.”
“We developed Advanced Warfare with the competitive community in mind, and we can’t wait for the top talent from around the world to compete in the Call of Duty Championships,” Sledgehammer co-founder Glen Schofield said in a statement.
