Fan's Alternate Ending To Last of Us Get's Director's Praise

Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic adventure game The Last of Us was praised for it’s layered story and crazy ending. For one fan, the ending wasn’t good enough. They re-wrote the final scene with a humorous tone, though this happens all the time, the real news is that the director Neil Druckmann actually read it.

In a NeoGAF thread titled “How would you have written the ending to The Last of Us?” shows a new ending featuring Vin Diesel.
“Ellie and Joel are driving away from the hospital. He has saved her, and murdered the fireflies.
In the rearview mirror, Joel sees a car approaching. He lightly hits the gas pedal, trying to put a little distance between him and the car that follows. The car keeps gaining on him, it pulls up beside him.
Joel looks out the window and sees the last person he wants to see right now.
It is Vin Diesel. A relic from Joel’s dark drift racing past.
Vin gives Joel a look that only says one thing. This challenge is on baby.”
Ellie then encourages Joel to slam on the gas. He does, and is able to beat Vin Diesel in a race. Then this happens: “Ellie and Joel embrace, victorious. He holds her close, and whispers in her ear: ‘You know, Ellie, we really are 2 fast 2 furious.’ They cry.“
Druckmann linked to the NeoGAF thread on Twitter writing, “So good. This NeoGAF alt ending to The Last of Us puts the original ending to shame.”
