Bet you guys did not know that Ubisoft’s free game offer as an “apology” for the broken launch of Assassin’s Creed Unity has some hidden agreements.
Game Informer spotted the legal terms that are seen at the bottom of this post. To summarize, by accepting the free game from Ubisoft you are waiving your right to sue Ubisoft or any of its divisions, through solo lawsuit or a class-action legal battle.
This is not uncommon to see in the gaming world. Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and Steam have legal terms in place that protects against class-action suits.
Unity’s launch in November has a long list of glitches which most have been fixed through updates. Just before Thanksgiving, Ubisoft announced that if you bought a season pass you could claim a free game from a set of Ubisoft options that are actually pretty decent.
The DLC pass has been removed from sale, but if you bought it before it was taken down you will still be getting free content in the form of the Dead Kings expansion.
